I DIDN'T prep much before I sprayed (well I cleaned the trim and sanded *a little*) and a few months later it's already starting to come up on the windshield panels. Whatever you do, make sure you prep well and use thin coats. : I've decided to use the Plastic-kote products in order to do this. : I also did not choose the truck bed liner spray because I realy don't wish to have a textured surface along the trim.
: I chose the fast dry trim black (plast-kote). Upon reading the how to use backing, I noticed it asks for 1000 grit sandpaper and primer. So I bought the primer and sandpaper. But when you guys painted your trim did you sand it down? Or use the primer? Or both? : I plan on doing the side trim pieces ( along base of windows ) and the trim that runs from the windshield over the car to the back. : I'm not gonna sand or prime the side trim molding pieces ( along base of windows ) but should I sand the trim that runs along the windshield and over the car to bare metal and then prime and paint? : Just some input please. : Plan on doing it this Sunday.
